The community of Pilot Butte is coming together following a devastating fire in that community Saturday.
Wanda and Dale Hanson lost everything in a devastating house fire.
In a Facebook message of support, Cheryl Turgeon-Lissel is collecting donations and gift cards for the family as they await some relief through insurance.
"Wanda and Dale Hanson have been long standing residents of Pilot Butte. Many know Wanda through her ownership of the Pilot Butte Confectionery. Her children all attended Pilot Butte School," Turgeon-Lissel explained. "Another way to support Wanda and Dale is by sending cards and notes letting them know the community cares for them and supports them. A little kindness goes a long way."
The massive blaze caused the loss of the Hanson's entire home and the loss of pets.
Broncos Pub and Grill is also doing what it can to help. The local bar is advertising that for every Hanson burger sold it will donate $5 to help the family.
A benefit is also planned at the recreation centre on Saturday July 21st.
